These terms explain how we quote, book and carry out work, what we need from you, what is covered by warranty and what is not, and how we handle cancellations, payment and complaints.
Dr SunShield is a family-run window tinting company founded in 2023 and based in Bay Square, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We supply and install window film and switchable Smart Film for vehicles, homes and villas, offices and commercial buildings, and yachts.
These terms apply to the quotations we provide, the work we carry out and your use of this website. By requesting a quotation, booking an installation or using this website, you agree to these terms.
Please read them before you book. If anything is unclear, ask us. We would rather answer a question in advance than have a misunderstanding on the day.
We offer five main applications:
Not every service is available in every location. Availability depends on the service, the site, access and scheduling. We confirm what we can do for you at the quotation stage.
Yacht and marine work is assessed vessel by vessel before we make any recommendation, because marine glazing varies considerably.
We provide a written quotation before any work begins. You will not be asked to commit to anything before you have seen it.
Our quotation is based on the information you give us and, where relevant, on what we observe at the site. If the actual job differs materially from what was described — for example a different number of windows, a different vehicle, or access conditions we were not told about — we will tell you before continuing and, if it affects the price, provide a revised quotation for you to approve.
We do not publish a fixed price list. Pricing depends on the application, the size and number of panes, the film tier selected and the conditions at the site. A generic price would be misleading, so we quote each job individually.
Quotations are valid for the period stated on them. Prices may change after that period.
A booking is confirmed once you have accepted the quotation and we have agreed a date, time and location with you.
We will give you a realistic time estimate for the work rather than one that simply sounds convenient. How long an installation takes depends on the job: a vehicle is typically a single visit, while villas, offices and yachts vary considerably with the number of panes, access and conditions on the day.
We may need to reschedule occasionally, for example because of weather, an earlier job overrunning, or circumstances outside our control. If that happens, we will tell you as soon as we can and agree a new time with you.
Free mobile or doorstep installation is available for eligible services and locations, which means we come to your home, office or another agreed location rather than you bringing the vehicle or waiting at a workshop.
Eligibility depends on the service, the location, the booking and the conditions at the site. We confirm whether your job qualifies with your quotation, before you commit.
Mobile installation requires suitable conditions at the site. That generally means adequate space, reasonable access, shelter from wind, dust and direct weather where necessary, and access to power where the job requires it. If conditions at the site are not suitable on the day, we will discuss the options with you rather than proceeding and producing a poor result.
To allow us to carry out the work properly, you agree to:
We are not responsible for delays, additional costs or an inability to complete the work where these arise from inaccurate information, lack of access, or permissions that were not obtained.
Film is applied to existing glass, and the result depends partly on the condition of that glass.
Where we identify existing damage, scratches, chips, contamination, factory imperfections, dot-matrix areas or previous film residue, we will point it out. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, and film will not conceal or repair them.
Glass can, in rare cases, be affected by removal of old film or by the application process, particularly where it is already damaged, weakened or of poor quality. Where we believe there is a material risk, we will tell you before proceeding so you can decide.
We will not promise flawless results, zero disruption or identical outcomes on every job. The right expectation depends on the film, the surface and the conditions on the day.
Before fitting, surfaces are cleaned and masked. We take care to protect the surrounding area, but installation is practical work and some disturbance to the working area is unavoidable.
After installation, it is normal to see slight haziness, small water pockets or minor bubbles under the film. These are part of the curing process and generally clear as the film dries. Curing time varies with the film, the glass and the weather.
Please follow the aftercare guidance in section 15 during the curing period. Cleaning, operating or disturbing the film too early can affect the finish and may affect warranty cover.
The price for your job, the accepted methods of payment, whether a deposit is required and when the balance falls due are all set out in your quotation. Nothing is due until you have accepted that quotation.
You will not be charged anything that was not set out in your quotation or agreed with you in advance. If the scope of the job changes once work is under way, we will stop, explain the position and agree any revised price with you before continuing.
Where a deposit is taken to confirm a booking, the amount and the conditions attached to it will be stated in your quotation before you commit.
Ownership of the installed film passes to you once payment has been received in full.
If you need to cancel or move a confirmed booking, please tell us as early as you reasonably can. We will always try to accommodate a change, and in most cases rescheduling is straightforward.
Any notice period, cancellation charge or condition attached to a deposit will be stated in your quotation, so you will know the position before you commit rather than afterwards.
Where we have already travelled to the site, or cut or ordered film specifically for your job, costs already incurred may not be recoverable. If that situation arises we will explain it to you and discuss it, rather than applying a charge without notice.
If we need to cancel or reschedule, we will tell you as soon as possible and agree a new time with you. Where you have paid a deposit and we are unable to carry out the work, that deposit will be returned to you.
Our films carry a product warranty, and the length depends on the tier installed:
| Film tier | Warranty period | Stated IR heat rejection |
|---|---|---|
| DS-ONE | 3 years | Up to 67% |
| DS-PRO | 6 years | Up to 88% |
| DS-MAX | 10 years | Up to 98% |
The warranty covers the film and our installation of it. In practice this means defects such as bubbling, peeling, lifting, cracking, delamination or discolouration that arise from the film itself or from the way it was fitted.
Performance figures such as heat rejection, UV protection and glare reduction are stated maximums provided on the basis of the film specification. They are not a guarantee of a specific temperature reduction, a specific energy saving or a specific measured value in your particular vehicle, property or vessel.
Any on-site solar meter demonstration we provide is a practical, first-hand comparison. It is not laboratory, government or manufacturer certification, and it is not proof of legal compliance or of an exact performance value.
The warranty does not cover:
If you think there is a problem with your film, contact us using the details in section 22 and tell us what you are seeing. Photographs are helpful and often let us give you an answer quickly.
To make a claim you will need proof of the original installation, such as your invoice or receipt.
We will arrange an inspection with you. How that is arranged depends on the job, and we will agree a practical approach with you rather than expecting you to transport a vehicle, or wait unnecessarily, where that is not sensible.
Where the issue is covered, we will repair or replace the affected film. Where it is not covered, we will explain why and, if you want us to, quote for the remedial work.
Please raise any concerns as soon as you notice them. Continuing to use or clean affected film can make a problem worse.
Newly installed film needs time to cure. During that period:
Once cured, clean filmed glass with a soft microfibre cloth and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, scrapers, sharp tools and harsh chemical cleaners, all of which can damage the film surface.
We provide aftercare guidance at handover. If you are unsure about anything, ask us before cleaning rather than afterwards.
Rules on vehicle window tint, including permitted levels and which windows may be tinted, are set by the relevant authorities and can change. Different rules may apply to different vehicle types, and to vehicles registered in different emirates.
You are responsible for ensuring that the tint level you choose complies with the regulations that apply to your vehicle and its registration. We will tell you what we know, and we will raise it if a request looks likely to cause you a problem, but the final choice is yours.
We are not liable for fines, penalties, failed inspections, insurance consequences or other legal issues arising from a tint level that does not comply with applicable regulations.
If compliance matters to you, please tell us before booking and check the current requirements with the relevant authority.
We take responsibility for our work. Where we cause loss or damage through our negligence or a failure to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, we will put it right.
Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability in connection with any installation is limited to the amount you paid us for that installation.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, loss of profit, loss of time or inconvenience.
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
This section in particular should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before publication, since the enforceability of liability limits depends on the applicable law.

Contact us using the details in section 22, explaining what happened and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it, and come back to you with a clear response.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in how we work, in the services we offer, or in the law. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in force when your quotation was issued.
These terms, and any work we carry out for you, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
If a dispute arises, we would ask you to contact us first so that we have the opportunity to resolve it directly. In our experience most issues are settled that way.
