Commercial glazing systems behave differently with film. Existing cracks, seals, coatings and glass or façade warranties also need to be considered.
We assess the glazing and installation conditions before recommending a product. This helps identify compatibility concerns before work begins.
A project may require building-owner, landlord, facilities-management or community approval, permits, working-at-height arrangements, security clearance or site documentation. Requirements vary by property, access and scope.
Ordinary solar, privacy and appearance film is not shatterproof, storm-proof, blast-resistant or burglar-proof. Impact and security performance requires a separate specialist system with the correct product, installation and supporting test data.
Privacy and appearance
Reflective or tinted film can make it harder to see in during the day when it is brighter outside. After dark, with interior lights on, that effect can reverse and people outside may be able to see in.

Commercial ceramic films
We recommend by application rather than appearance alone. All three films are stated to offer up to 99% UV protection and up to 97% glare reduction, with infrared heat rejection and warranty length rising by tier.
First-hand comparison
Where available or applicable, we use an EDTM SP2065 solar transmission meter, made in the USA, so you can view a live comparison before deciding.
The device is reported to show heat-related and UV-related readings and can compare an untreated sample with a treated one on the spot.

Not necessarily. Film comes in a range of appearances and light levels. A lighter option can retain more natural light, while a darker option can create a more private look. We help balance heat, glare, privacy and brightness during the survey.
Not consistently. Reflective film can improve privacy during the day when it is brighter outside, but after dark with interior lights on, the effect can reverse. For spaces needing privacy on demand, Smart Film or frosted film may suit better.
