Almost every conversation we have in Dubai starts the same way: someone asks for the darkest tint available because they assume dark equals cool. It is a reasonable assumption. It is also the single most expensive misunderstanding in this industry, because it leads people to buy on appearance and then wonder why the cabin still bakes.
Darkness and heat rejection are two different properties. A film's shade tells you how much visible light it blocks. Heat is mostly carried by infrared radiation, which is invisible. A cheap dark film can block plenty of light while letting a lot of infrared through, and a light ceramic film can do the opposite. If your goal is a cooler cabin or a cooler room, the shade is the wrong number to shop on.
What actually makes a film reject heat
Sunlight arrives in three broad parts: ultraviolet, visible light and infrared. UV is the part that fades interiors and damages skin. Visible light is what you see, and what glare comes from. Infrared is the part you feel as heat on your arm through the window.
A quality ceramic film is built to target these separately. It can hold back a high proportion of infrared while still letting a useful amount of visible light through, which is why a lighter ceramic film can leave a car noticeably cooler than a darker, cheaper alternative. That separation is the whole point of paying for ceramic rather than a basic dyed film.
The three numbers worth asking about
- IR rejection — the infrared figure. This is the one that maps most directly to how hot the space feels.
- UV protection — relevant for interiors, upholstery and skin rather than temperature.
- Glare reduction — comfort while driving or working, particularly near water or glass towers.
Note what is missing from that list: VLT, the visible light figure that determines how dark the film looks. It matters for appearance and for what is permitted on a vehicle, but it is not the heat number, and treating it as one is how people end up disappointed.
How our three films compare
We keep the range deliberately simple. Three ceramic tiers, all offering the same UV and glare performance, differing in infrared rejection and warranty length.

All three are stated at up to 97% glare reduction as well. What you are choosing between, in practice, is how much infrared you want held back and how long you want the film warranted for.
These are stated performance figures for the films, expressed as maximums. They are not a promise of an exact temperature drop in your car or villa. Real-world results depend on the glass, the orientation, the vehicle or building and the conditions on the day.
So which one should you actually pick?
We would rather talk you into the right film than the expensive one, so here is roughly how we think about it.
DS-ONE
Sensible where heat is a secondary concern. A car that lives in basement parking, a north-facing room, a job where glare and UV matter more than raw temperature. It still carries the same up to 99% UV protection as the top tier.
DS-PRO
The middle choice, and the one most people land on. A meaningful step up in infrared rejection with a six-year warranty. For a daily-driven car in Dubai or a villa with moderate sun exposure, this is usually where the value sits.
DS-MAX
Worth it where heat is the actual problem you are trying to solve. West-facing glass that holds heat into the evening, a car parked outdoors all day, a large glazed living area, or a yacht deck. The ten-year warranty also matters if you intend to keep the vehicle or property long term.
Ask to see it, not just hear it
Performance claims are easy to make and hard to check, which is why we bring an EDTM SP2065 solar transmission meter to jobs where it is practical. You get a reading on untinted glass and a reading through the film, on the same vehicle, in the same spot, minutes apart.
On one recent car the meter went from 715 without film to 9 with it — close to 99% of the measured transmission blocked. That is a live demonstration you can watch happen, not a laboratory certificate, and we are careful to describe it as exactly that.
A meter demonstration is first-hand evidence, not certified testing. It is not proof of legal compliance, an exact TSER value, a guaranteed temperature reduction or a specific saving on your cooling costs.
A few things worth knowing before you book
- Decide what you are fixing first. Heat, glare, privacy and appearance pull in different directions. Naming the priority makes the film choice obvious.
- Property glass is not car glass. The number of panes, the orientation and the access all shape both the recommendation and the quote.
- Check what the warranty covers. Ours covers the film and our installation, with the length set by the tier.
- Get the quote in writing before anything starts. That is our standard practice, and it is a fair thing to expect from anyone.
